A teenager was still in critical condition on Tuesday after the car where he was the passenger spun out of control and skidded into an oncoming tractor trailer rig just outside Arvada.
The truck came to rest on its side in the 7000 block of Indiana Street and trapped the driver, according to the State Patrol.
The 16-year old was flown by helicopter to St. Anthony Central Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The teen was riding in a car that was being driven by another teen, also 16.
According to State Troopers, the two teens were traveling south on Indiana Street shortly before 11 a.m. when they saw traffic ahead of them coming to a sudden stop. The driver slammed on the brakes, and the car slid into the northbound lanes, hitting the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the car was also sent to St. Anthony Central Hospital, where he was being treated for serious injuries. The victims' names were not available.
