Driver Accused Of Vehicular Homicide In Accident

According to the Grand Junction Police Department Blood, toxicology tests have determined that a woman who allegedly caused a fatal car accident last week had cocaine and opiates in her system at the time of the accident.

Christy R. Buescher, 39, was taken away by police on Friday morning, according to police, to ultimately face charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of drugs and disobeying a traffic signal.

Buescher was driving east on Patterson Road On Aug. 19 at about 10 a.m. when she ran the red light at 281/4 Road and collided with another car being driven by Stanna Lindholm, 27, who was traveling north on 281/4 Road, according to police.

Lindholm was killed in the accident, according to police.

Lindholm was a Mesa State College graduate and a mother of two. She had recently returned to school and was preparing to student teach at Central High School in the spring of 2006, according to a newspaper in her hometown.

Buescher had faced a similar conviction of driving under the influence in 1998.
