Hit-and-run Driver Arrested After Standoff For Ramming Married Couple's Car

November 18, 2005

Police have captured the man accused of pulling a gun on a state trooper after a hit-and-run accident in Longmont. Shawn Lee Todaro, 34, was arrested in Fort Collins on Tuesday when police tracked his cell phone to the 900 block of Glenmoor Drive. Todaro surrendered after a five-hour standoff.

Police said Todaro ran a stop sign at 23rd Avenue in the north side of Longmont and hit a vehicle occupied by a married couple. He allegedly reached for a gun in the car he was driving, wrestled with a state trooper who responded to the scene and fled.
