A Littleton woman arrested in connection with a fatal accident in Larimer County will appear in court to be advised of the charges against her.
Amber Maisel, 18, is charged with vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault as the result of an accident Saturday on U.S. 287 about a half-mile north of Ted's Place. She is scheduled to appear in County Court at 1:30 p.m. Maisel was arrested and is free on a $10,000 bond.
Maisel was traveling north on 287, pulled to the right shoulder and was attempting to make a U-turn when a GMC Yukon, also northbound, broadsided the Honda Civic she was driving, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Joseph Cochrane, 22, died at Poudre Valley Hospital later that day. Maisel and the three remaining passengers in the car - Michael Lee, 19, Kelly Sprong, 18, and Daniel Lee, 16 - all sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Sprong remains in serious condition at PVH, Michael Lee was discharged and Daniel Lee is likely to be discharged soon, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital. All of the passengers in the car are believed to be from the Denver metro area, a CSP trooper said.
